Philosophy on Environmental issues...

Most people realize that oil the driving force in our economy today is non-renewable; but did you know:

That at the current rate of use world wide that we are going to run out of oil by 2040 A.D. All Government studies worldwide have shown this fact.
You can find that the World Reserves/Production as of December 18, 2000 is 40.4 years at The World Energy Council Web Site. The information is the R/P (reserves/production) ratio
and is calculated by dividing proved recoverable reserves at the end of 1999 by production in that year. The resulting figure is the time in years that the proved recoverable reserves would last if production were to continue at the 1999 level.

There is an alternative - Hydrogen Fuel.
No one is saying that the World is doomed; we only have to think a little smarter if we want our children to live comfortably. The earth is an isolated island; surrounded by what you see when you look up on a dark night. We would be wise to start using hydrogen fuel now and save the nonrenewable resources for the future! British Columbia, Canada is one of the world leaders in this new technology. To do this you require electricity and water. The electricity will chemically separate the water into hydrogen and oxygen. The oxygen released into the atmosphere will later recombine to complete the cycle and form only water as a by-product. This is a renewable resource and does not harm the planet in any way except perhaps causing global cooling, as the atmospheric oxygen content would increase with the help of vegetation. This natural process is the very reason that we even exist. "Water is our life giver". Did you know that your body is 98% water and that you and your environment require this just to live? Actually, I am not being very honest on this as there is another way that uses a pond and your common algae. Algae it seems normally produces oxygen during photosynthesis however in doing so it also uses sulfur chemically. If you remove the sulfur from the equation then the algae will produce hydrogen as a by-product. This is a natural process that an alga uses in order to survive. There is also another method as well. Nuclear power can be used to boil water and run a steam-electric turbine. The electricity produced would then be used to break water into its primary components hydrogen and oxygen. The hydrogen would be stored for in containers for fuel and the oxygen would be released into the atmosphere. Now when you run your hydrogen powered machine it will take the oxygen out of the atmosphere and combine it with the hydrogen giving you back the energy that was supplied by the nuclear isotope. The only byproduct is water. This is perfectly in line with the Kyoto Accord and is a perfectly viable solution. I am sure our children will produce their needed renewable energy by using these methods in the future.

In 2010 A.D., British Columbia, Canada is hosting the world.

We are going to provide hydrogen-powered busses to get to the Olympic players to the site in order to show that it is a viable option. My personal hope is that the world will use this new technology now and save the oil for lubrication of our machines in the future. This to me is the only logical solution. I see a future where hydrogen-fuel will be common place and will power our motor vehicles and industry.
